Chairmans Update
With 2 of the best April Saturdays ever enjoyed by all it is time to get serious with the league campaign starting this week - best of luck to all who contribute this year - we now have the best facilities in the league, lets make it count!
There has been a lot of hard work at the club going on in readiness for the season - huge thanks to:-
Pedro - the ground is in great shape and last Saturday's strip was fantastic. Thanks also to Dan Telf for helping Pedro.
Andy H - with Michelle's & Fletch's help, delivered a cracking race night that was both fun and produced a good profit for the club - this would have been far more had there been greater support from the membership and it is a shame that you were not all there to enjoy a first rate evening. For those who couldn't make who contributed by sponsoring a race/backing horses - thank you
Sam B - skippered his first Sunday game and whilst his side didn't probably scored enough runs, they performed well and enjoyed the game. Please do support fully Sam, in every aspect, every week
Pedro again - for arranging the fantastic new sight screens & fence- they are brilliant!
Peter Cole - for obtaining the railway sleepers (free of charge saving us some £600)
Ed H - for taking on the organisation of the bar - his effort and enthusiasm has already had a really positive impact
Andy mentioned in his e-mail this week the need to make sure you have paid your membership, either in a lump sum, by arranging a standing order (there are forms at the club that are easy to complete and had into your Bank) or to contact me or Dean if you have any difficulties or questions (on a strictly confidential basis). Please make sure you do sort this this weekend - as Andy said we need to be concentrating on the cricket, not other matters. It takes a lot of cash running our club so please do the right thing by sorting this now - for the majority of the membership who have made arrangements, thank you.
Brilliant turn out at nets tonight - it's amazing how your luck increases the more you practise!
Lets hope the forecast is wrong, we have a great weekend that sets the scene for our whole season
Enjoy!
Mac

Chairmans Update
With sub zero wind chill, the coldest winter on record for 30 odd years who would think the 1st AHHC work party is a week Saturday with our first game only 6 weeks away!
For those of you who have been to indoor nets I am sure you will agree that the facilities are the best we have experienced - if you haven't been yet - the season is just around the corner & you will benefit from making the effort - the 5 a side warm up is epic!
Everyone was advised of the new fee structure agreed at the AGM (as confirmed by the membership) and we asked that standing orders be set up from February to meet the membership fee of £10 p.m. - I am truly disappointed that (apart from Andrew H, Greg M, Sam B, Paul W, Me! & Chris T for getting their payments set up + Dean R & John D for paying for the full year in advance) so many members have not met their obligations. It has been made very clear that if there are any financial issues for individual members that we will look at them sympathetically - we have a committee meeting in a couple of weeks so if this applies to you please let me or Dean know by e-mail. If not, please set the payments up now - you will need to make up the last 2 months as the payments should have started in February - the bank details are Lloydstsb Amersham, sort code 309018, account number 01061045, account name Amersham Hill CC & let Dean know when you have done this. Please do understand the cl!
ub is yours but this brings with it responsibilities that you need to uphold - without this we are not a club but purely a gaggle of individuals who feel they can do what they want at the expense of their club-mates - this is neither the AHCC I recognise nor the one I am sure you wish to be part of
The 1st work party is on Saturday 13th March - kick off 10 ish - normal stuff covering tidy pavilion, ground perimeter, sort artificial - the list is getting shorter every year as we invest in our club to improve our facilities. We will also have work parties over the following 2 weekends so make sure you are there - if we get the support we experienced at the end of last year it will be terrific and will be over very quickly
Other stuff going on - new fence going up shortly at the bottom of the ground - 2m high from the white picket fence to the mast - will save a fortune on lost balls + speed up games. Pete has submitted a grant application for £5K for new sight screens and other kit - terrific work and if it comes off will be brilliant. Social events - Andrew H about to launch race night as season opener. Local school looking to hitch up with us - hopefully this will re-start younger colts section. ( Ian B has called it a day with older colts due to difficulties with number in GCSE year - huge thanks for all Ian has done)
I am sure we all want the best for our club in 2010 - we have a great chance of our best season for years - lets get behind every aspect of our club now and make it happen - look forward to seeing you at nets and the work parties - bring it on!
Cheers
Mac
